Subject: Meeting August 29th at Westcave Preserve, News
Hello to all:
I wanted you all to be aware of a meeting that the Nature Conservancy is
hosting on August 29th from 6:30 to 8 pm at Westcave Preserve. The
discussion will be about a new program, the Pedernales River Project,
that TNC has initiated regarding the Pedernales River. As sponsors of
the project, TNC will be partnering with the River Systems Institute at
Texas State University, Westcave Preserve, and other organizations and
landowners. The purpose of the project is to study the entire river and
establish a data base for the river as it is now with expectations of
being able to help protect the river and its watershed from future
degradation. Dan Snodgrass, director of the project, will be able to
give you much more information about what they hope to accomplish in the
next three years. The Nature Conservancy has been conducting a similar
project with the River Systems Institute on the Blanco River for over
two years. Mike and I hope you will share our enthusiasm for the
Pedernales River Project and the long term benefits it will have for our
watershed. If you would like to attend this meeting, please RSVP to Dan
Snodgrass at dsnodgrass@tnc.org or (830) 868-4830.
